The Argos Parks and Recreation Department (“Argos Parks”) made a strategic move by acquiring 8.5 acres of land adjacent to Argos Community Park.
This purchase will expand the park's footprint to nearly 60 acres, enhancing recreational and green space amenities for the community.

Park Board President Mark Dean expressed enthusiasm about the acquisition, stating, "This expansion marks an important moment for Argos Community Park, allowing us to provide additional opportunities for outdoor recreation and community engagement."
This newly acquired land is part of a trend in the significant growth and development the park has created in recent history. Argos Parks added a park (Nickle Plate Square), completely renovated a park (Foker Park), added pickleball courts, and installed new play equipment in Memorial Park and Community Park.

“As we look ahead in our planning, we keep top of mind to deliver on our promise to provide the best park system for residents and visitors. The extension of Community Park is a great way to deliver on that promise," Dean added
The specific use of the newly acquired land is still in development. Argos Parks encourages visitors to follow their Facebook page @argosparks for updates as they release updates.
