Mt Carmel Police charged three local women with alcohol offenses after a recent traffic stop. The stop was made on South Walnut Street on a 2013 Chevrolet for a Suspended Registration. The arresting officer detected the odor of cannabis coming from inside and later located alcohol in the trunk. The driver, 19 year old Grace DeWitt of Bridgeport and a passenger, 19 year old Marley Moutry also of Bridgeport were each charged with Unlawful Possession of Alcohol by a Minor. A third passenger, 19 year old Katlyn Ortiz of Lawrenceville was charged with Unlawful Consumption of Alcohol. All three were transported to the Wabash County Jail in Mt Carmel and later released with notices to appear in court.
