For the first time in a long time, there will be a new manager overseeing the Mid-American Air Center located northeast of Lawrenceville.
The Bi-State Authority, which governs the airport, held a retirement party Tuesday night for Kurtis Schwartz, who is leaving Oct. 1 after 47 years of service. He will be replaced by current assistant manager Devon Hill on Oct. 2.
Hill has worked and trained under Schwartz for the past five years. The Board of Directors praised Schwartz for his efforts to improve the airport over the years and wished him well for the future.
