Lawrence County States Attorney Brady Waldrop reports that a local man was recently sentenced to prison in Lawrence County Circuit Court
(LCCC). 57 year old James B. Piper of Lawrenceville was charged with aggravated battery, a Class 3 Illinois Felony. He had previously been placed on felony probation, but violated the terms. He was given 3 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections (IDOC) to be followed up by up to six months of mandatory supervised release.
