A Jasper County man has plead guilty to murder.
31 year old Paul Schoonover of Newton entered the plea during an appearance in Jasper County Court this week.
He was charged with the killing of 59 year old Terry Eastep of Newton at a residence in Newton in June of 2023.
Schoonover was sentenced to 30 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections with 3 years of mandatory supervised release.
He was given credit for over 560 days served in jail.
