The Lawrence County Board is moving forward with three assorted projects around the courthouse building in downtown Lawrenceville.
Upon the recommendation of the building and grounds committee, they accepted the approximately $163,500 bid of Croslow Excavating for concrete sidewalk work around the building.
Also accepted was the $790,000 bid from Kiefer Brothers for window replacement and $55,300 bid from VEI for upgrades to the closed circuit surveillance camera system for both the courthouse and the annex.
Funding for the projects will come from federal ARPA funds awarded to Lawrence County.
The board also took action on several bridge and highway repair projects in Lukin and Christy townships for the future.
It was announced that Joe Calvert has been appointed as interim fire chief for the Lawrence-Allison Fire Protection District, replacing Virgil Potts who is taking a leave of absence.
The hiring of a new county animal control officer is also close with potential candidates currently being interviewed.
