The National Weather Service has cancelled the Flood Warning issued this week for the Embarras River at Lawrenceville.
That is because the river has crested below flood stage. It crested Friday morning at 29.71 feet, just below the 30 foot flood stage. The river had been on the rise due to extensive rain earlier this week in the upper river basin and was leading to rises in the river levels as it traveled downstream. The Embarras is forecast to continue a steady fall
