Catherine (Whitkanack) Morgan, age 105, of Lawrenceville, Illinois, formerly of Marshall, Illinois, died September 6, 2025, at Haven of Bridgeport. She was born April 3, 1920 to Firdie and Maude Whitkanack. She married Clifford Morgan on December 24, 1941, and he preceded her in death on June 23, 1973.
Catherine will be remembered as a woman of remarkable character—caring and selfless in all that she did, dutiful and dependable in her responsibilities, and blessed with many talents. She was highly regarded by all who knew her, admired for the warmth of her spirit, her unfailing sense of humor, and her unwavering devotion to family, who remained the center and purpose of her life.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Cliff; her brother, Jesse Whitkanack; her sons-in-law, James Farris and Bob Strange; her stepdaughter, Janet Strange; and her sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.
Catherine is survived by her daughters, Dixie Strange and Kathy Farris; her grandchildren, Corey Fann, Travis (Ann) Fann, and Jessica (Jerry King) Farris; her step-grandchildren, Irene (Peter) Erickson and Sam Strange; and her great-grandchildren, Shaylin Fann, Gage Fann, and Maverick Fann. She is also survived by her brothers, James Whitkanack and Fred (Opal) Wh itkanack, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.
Catherine’s long life was a testament to the values she held dear—family, faith, kindness, and laughter. Her memory will continue to inspire and bring comfort to all who were fortunate enough to know her.
Private graveside services will be conducted at a later date at the Livingston Cemetery east of Marshall, Illinois.
