The Lawrence County Unit #20 Board is moving closer to filling two administrative principal vacancies.
The board met in special session Wednesday at Lawrenceville High School and conducted interviews with three prospective candidates in executive session. The district is looking to find principals for Lawrenceville High School (LHS) and Parkview Junior High School.
After the session, Unit #20 Superintendent Doug Daugherty told GIANT-FM WAKO News that the board will now assess and discuss the applicants over the next week. It is hoped that they could take action to approve two of the candidates at their next regularly scheduled board meeting, which is set for Wednesday, April 22nd at 7 p.m.
Daugherty has been the acting principal at both schools since the resignations of Ryan Clark at LHS and Andrea Youngs at Parkview earlier in the school term.
