A garage fire that broke out Friday at 1530 Monroe St. in Rochester has been ruled as a total loss, but its cause is undetermined.
Rochester Fire Chief TJ DuBois said this is the second fire at the location, after a house fire in February. The family had no homeowners insurance.
DuBois said the fire resulted in the loss of two vehicles, one golf cart and a boat, as well as several items the family had boxed up from the previous house fire. There was reportedly not any electrical power running in the garage at the time of the fire, and although the home had a camera surveillance system, the cameras were not pointed towards the garage.
