One person was killed in a residential fire in Rush County.
About 4 a.m. Sunday, Rush County Central Dispatch received a call about the fire in the Posey Township Fire Department service area, near Arlington. Initial information indicated that a person was still inside. The home was fully engulfed when crews arrived.
The identity of the victim was not released in the initial report pending notification of family. The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Indiana State Fire Marshal's Office and Rush County Sheriff's Department.
Several fire departments responded to the scene including Posey Township, Carthage, Raleigh, Glenwood, Manilla, Rushville Township, Rushville, and Morristown.
