The National Weather Service has now issued a Winter Storm Watch in effect from late Saturday night through Monday morning for the entire Giant-FM WAKO listening area.
During that time period, it is now anticipated that heavy snow of 10+ inches is likely.
Additionally, a band of accumulating flat ice of one to two tenths of an inch is possible for areas along and south of Interstate 70.
Roads, bridges and overpasses will become slick and hazardous and travel will become difficult to impossible.
Travel delays should be considered during the event. If travel is absolutely necessary, use extreme caution and take a winter storm kit.
It should include items such as tire chains, booster cables, a flashlight, shovel, blankets, extra clothing, water and a first aid kit.
