James “Jim” R. Pike, 80, of Plymouth

PLYMOUTH- James “Jim” R. Pike, 80, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, at Miller’s Merry Manor Nursing Home in Plymouth.

He was born on May 8, 1945, in Argos, Indiana, to Claude and Katie (Ludwig) Pike. Jim graduated from West High School in 1963. After graduating, he proudly served his country in the U.S. Army from 1964-1967 with Battery C, 67th Field Artillery Brigade.

Jim worked for Aker Plastics for 35 years before retiring in 2008. Hardworking and a man who was a jokester are just 2 words that describe him—a man who loved everything to do with Christmas, watching westerns, and Halloween movies. Jim was fantastic when it came to building and working with his hands, and honestly, he never had to call a repairman because Jim fixed and repaired it himself. He kept a meticulous lawn and took care of his relatives' yard as well.

You could also find Jim playing some of his favorite card games with his family, like Skip-Bo, euchre, rummy or board games like Risk and Aggravation.

He is survived by his daughter Candi Weller of Plymouth; son Jim (Becky) Pike of Plymouth; grandchildren: JC Oudes, Ethan Pike, Caleb Pike, Lexi Pike, and Adam Umbach; brother Ronnie (Bonnie) Pike; sister Sharon (Jim) Standly; Delores Dipert; and Shirley Conley.

Jim is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Delbert Hall.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2025, from 11-1 pm at the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan Street, Plymouth, IN 46563. Funeral services will immediately follow with Life Celebrant James Smart officiating.
