The Bi-State Authority, which governs the Mid-American Air Center located northeast of Lawrenceville met this week and were informed of the completion of a major project.
Airport assistant manager Devin Hill told the board that the ODALS construction project was completed on time on April 25th. They are now waiting on a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) flight test and training for them to be fully operational. The flight will take about 2 hours and will cost around $7100.
Three bids were received for the hanger project with Precise Construction coming in as the low bidder at $1,296.368. They were taken under advisement for further study and review.
The airport is applying for FY2026 Community Project Funding. This money will be used to help pay for the new Sewer Mound System, eliminating the current sewer plant. The amount of funding needed is $240,000 with $48,000 in matching funds from the airport.
