Police Incidents
Fire call
• At 1:20 a.m. Tuesday, police received a report of a brush fire in the area of County Road 1075 East and State Road 14 in Akron.
Medical call
• At 11:02 a.m. Tuesday, a man reported that his wife, who has dementia, left their room at Quality Inn, 289 McDonald Drive. Police located her at Walmart, and she was eventually transported to Woodlawn Health. Assistance was requested of 4C Health due to her mental state.
Suspicious
• At 2:48 p.m. Tuesday, police made contact with occupants of a vehicle that had run out of gas in the 1300 block of Main Street. Police records indicate that an odor of marijuana was emanating from the vehicle but not located. A vape device was reportedly seized from someone not of age to have it, and all occupants were subsequently released from the scene.
Lines down
• At 3:02 p.m. Tuesday, police received report of lines down at 12th Street and Wabash Avenue. The lines, believed to be Comcast's, were moved out of the roadway.
Fight
• At 4:31 p.m. Tuesday, police received a report that a man pushed someone during an altercation at 1428 Franklin St. The alleged victim did not wish to pursue charges.
Animal call
• At 8:33 p.m. Tuesday, a woman reported that her son was chased by two dogs in their driveway. The dogs were eventually located in the 300 block of West 11th Street and returned home. Animal control was to follow up, as it was reportedly not the first time the dogs were out loose.
