The National Weather Service (NWS) has now issued a Flood warning for the Embarras River at Lawrenceville, in effect from Thursday until Saturday.
The river was at 29.59 feet and rising as of Thursday morning. Extensive rainfall earlier this week in the upper Embarras River Basin has led to the rise. It is still below the 30 foot flood stage, but it expected to crest at 30 feet sometime late Friday. It will then fall below flood sometime on Saturday. Some minor flooding is anticipated around the Lawrenceville area.
