Extensive rainfall over the region in the last 24 to 48 hours has sent many rivers on the rise. That includes the Embarras River at Lawrenceville. The river was measured at 27.16 feet Thursday morning and rising. The river is still below the 30 foot flood stage at Lawrenceville, but is now predicted to crest sometime this weekend. A reminder to motorists--Do not drive through flooded roads-"Turn Around-Don't Drown."
