Police Chief John Weir arrested a Plymouth man on Monday after he stopped the vehicle for an expired Utah license plate.
At 10 a.m. Monday the police chief initiated a traffic stop at Lincoln Highway West and Pioneer Drive because the license plate on the vehicle came back to a green Chevrolet Camaro and it was on a black Ford Taurus.
During the investigation, the police chief determined that the driver, 23-year-old Duayne D. Waters-Sarmiento of Pennsylvania Avenue in Plymouth, had never possessed a driver’s license nor had the vehicle ever been registered.
Wates-Sarmiento was taken into custody and booked into the Marshall County Jail at 10:42 a.m. Monday for operating without ever obtaining a license. He was released on a cash bond at 3:15 Monday afternoon.

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is a mere allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
