Two individuals were arrested by Plymouth Police Officers on Sunday, July 29th for disregarding the flashing red light at North Michigan Street and Hoham Driver and for driving without a license.
Officer Mark conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for failure to stop at the flashing red traffic light at Hoham and North Michigan Street Sunday morning. He stopped the vehicle at Michigan Road and Veterans Parkway. During the traffic stop it was determined that the driver, Eduin Pagoada-Ruiz, 31, of West Jefferson Street in Plymouth was operating the motor vehicle without ever obtaining a license. Eduin Pagoada-Ruiz was transported to the Marshall County Jail and held on a $100 cash bond for operating without ever receiving a license.
At about 9:15 July 29th Officer Fisher stopped a vehicle that disregarded the red light at Michigan Street and Hoham Drive. The driver was later identified as Maria Avila, 24, of Bremen. It was determined that Avila had never been issued a license and she had a warrant out of Kosciusko County for theft.
Maria Avila was taken into custody, transported to Marshall County Jail, and booked in for an operator who was never licensed and for the Warrant.
Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is a mere allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
