Greencastle Fire Department to host Open House Saturday

One of Greencastle Fire Chief Rob Frank's goals will be achieved again Saturday as his department will host a public safety open house at the Greencastle Fire Department, 107 S. Indiana St.

The open house will run from 8 a.m. to noon and give residents an inside look at first responders, as well as plenty of activities and free food.

Last year, Frank brought back the Open House after a five year break and this year's event will again feature a wide variety of first responder organizations featuring the following: Greencastle Fire Department, Greencastle Police, Putnam County EMS, Putnam County 911, Putnam County CERT, the Putnam County Sheriff's Department, Indiana DNR, the Putnam County YMCA and the Putnam County Gaming Initiative.

Frank said there will be a live extrication and forcible entry demonstration at 10 a.m. and 11 a.m., as well as interactive games, a bicycle giveaway, bike safety giveaways and face painting.
