Clarence Vernon Shrader, 91, of Cloverdale

Clarence Vernon Shrader, 91, of Cloverdale, was called home to be with our Lord and Savior, on September 23, 2025.

Clarence was born on January 19, 1934, in Cedar Bluff Virginia. Parents, Jessie James Shrader, Rose Anne Whitt. Clarence is survived by his loving wife, Nancy Irene Shrader. Daughters: Sonya Morrison, Cathy Smith, Darla Shrader, Faye Ellerman, Shannon Shrader. 13 Grandchildren, 14 Great Grandchildren. Surviving brothers: Alvie Shrader, Howard Shrader. Surviving sister's: Lois Calvert, Shirly Trump, Norma Jean Fouquet. He was preceded in death by: Lucille Hicks.

Clarence was a veteran of the U.S. Airforce. He retired from General Motor's Truck and Bus, in Indianapolis, In. He was an avid fisherman and hunter, gardener and he enjoyed boating and restoring old vehicles. He was a loving husband, grandfather and great grandfather. He was also known for being a skilled musician. He played the guitar, harmonica, piano, harp strings, and fiddle with various bands. He was offered a job to play at the Grand Ole Opry but decided to stay local and share his love of music with Cloverdale and the surrounding communities.

Funeral services for Clarence will be at 2:00 pm Saturday October 4th, 2025 at Whitaker Funeral Home, Cloverdale. Visitation will be from 12:00 pm until the service time of 2:00 pm at the funeral home.
