
A Logan Addis goal late in the first half was enough for Shelbyville boys soccer to secure a 3-0 conference win Thursday over New Castle.
The Golden Bears added second-half goals from Hudson Rice and Levy Luciano to even their Hoosier Heritage Conference record at 2-2 and push their overall record to 5-6.
Corbin Martin was credited with three saves in goal.
New Castle lost its sixth straight match to fall to 3-9 (1-4 HHC).
Shelbyville is at Whiteland (5-6) Thursday.

At Hawk’s Tail Golf Course, Julie Garrison led the Golden Bears in their regular-season finale with a 50.
Hana Stenger and Sophia Asher each shot 56. Riley Everette and Maddy Jones both followed at 57.
Shelbyville travels to Greensburg Saturday morning to compete in the Greensburg Sectional. The top three teams and the top three low individuals not on an advancing team qualify for the Franklin Regional.

At Greensburg, Hannah Baker’s hat trick earned Shelbyville (8-5) its second win of the week.
Ava Van Wye and Cassie Pike also scored for the Golden Bears.
Noemy Ramirez scored two goals for Greensburg (5-5).
Boys tennis
Shelbyville 3, Indian Creek 2
At Indian Creek, Reece Prickett and Bram Kolkmeier scored singles wins for the Golden Bears against a future Hoosier Legends Conference opponent.
Prickett defeated Grayson Taylor at No. 1 singles, 6-4, 6-2.
Kolkmeier produced a 6-3, 6-4 win over Will Shobe at No. 3 singles.
Shelbyville’s third win came at No. 1 doubles where Aiden Smith and Wyatt Armstrong rolled to a 6-1, 6-4 win over Grant Daltmand and Mason Frische.
The Golden Bears (13-5) host Batesville Saturday.
New Palestine 3, Triton Central 2
At New Palestine, Triton Central was victorious at No. 1 and No. 2 singles but could not produce a third win to defeat the Dragons.
At No. 1 singles, Janssen Capps defeated Carson Rush, 6-3, 4-6, 6-3.
Brayden Hoover topped Tyler Walter at No. 2 singles, 6-2, 6-3.
Bradyn Robinson lost a three-set match to New Palestine’s Brock Hehmann at No. 3 singles, 6-3, 4-6, 6-3.
Waldron 1, Connersville 1
Darkness set in before all three singles matches could be completed.
At No. 1 doubles, Waldron’s Jackson Kuhn and Caige Sheaffer defeated Maddox Rees and Parker Thumb, 7-5, 6-1.
Connersville’s Logan Young and Evan Miller bested Connor Ping and Noah Mitchell, 6-2, 6-3 at No. 2 doubles.
At No. 1 singles, Waldron’s Charlie Fischer was up 7-6 (5), 4-2 when his match was stopped.
Waldron’s Cash Young and Connersville’s Jay McMullen split the first two sets at No. 2 singles.
At No. 3 singles, Waldron’s Lincoln Fischer and Connersville’s Abel Parsley split the first two sets and were tied 5-5 in the third before the match was stopped for darkness.
Volleyball
Greenfield-Central def. Shelbyville, 25-15, 25-10, 25-21
At Greenfield-Central, the Cougars swept the Golden Bears (6-9, 0-3 HHC) for the conference victory.
Greenfield-Central improved to 10-7 (1-4 HHC).
Shelbyville won the junior varsity match, 27-25, 25-19.
The Golden Bears compete in the Lawrenceburg Invitational Saturday.
