Shelbyville tennis opened its season Monday with a dominant win at Edinburgh, 5-0.
The Golden Bears lost just one game while securing straight-set wins in all five matches.
At No. 1 singles, Ava Muckerheide defeated Gracie Lawson, 6-0, 6-0. Sophia Asher cruised to a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 2 singles over Bella Turner. And Corinne Aldridge defeated Sophia Pace at No. 3 singles, 6-0, 6-1.
At No. 1 doubles, Megan Childres and Ava Van Wye blanked Kaydra Peters and Kinzie Purvis, 6-0, 6-0.
Shelbyville’s No. 2 doubles team of Kylie Stader and Emmie Higgins defeated Olivia Aguayo and Lexi Stroud, 6-0, 6-0.
Macy Larrison vested Tyler Durbin, 8-0, in a junior varsity match.
The Golden Bears are at Morristown today.

At East Central, the Golden Bears took an early lead with a solo home run in the second inning by Kali Laycock, but East Central scored at least a run in each of its next five innings to secure a season-opening victory.
Gracie Crafton (2-1) pitched five innings and allowed nine hits, three walks and seven runs to take the loss.
Shelbyville had 13 hits off East Central pitcher Paige Hotze but hit into two double plays and left the bases loaded in the sixth and seventh innings.
Anna Shearer, Sydney Brown, Addie Stieneker, Laycock and Crafton each had two hits.
Shelbyville (2-1) is at Bloomington North (1-1) tonight.
