The Bridgeport City Council will be taking action in the future to alleviate problems with it's water system.
The city council voted Tuesday to upgrade the water meter reading software after receiving a report from city superintendent David Miller. It was also decided to replace chlorine and other pumps at the city water plant as required under E.P.A. regulations and to invest $25,000 in maintenance costs for water well #2. Mayor Tyler Griffin told GIANT-FM that the the cost is necessary in order to keep that well up and running. The well had not been regularly maintained in the past due to oversight.
